Communication
The centre welcomes and supports researchers and historians in their work. The selection of documents to be consulted can be made on the Internet via a consultation portal. This heritage is also promoted through exhibitions.
Terre Blanche has also chosen to put new technologies at the service of safeguarding and enhancing memory.
It has equipped itself with innovative and efficient digitisation means, specific to each type of medium: opaque and transparent documents of all sizes (from slides to posters of almost 2 metres in height), but also videos.
The procedure implemented follows the recommendations of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France’s digitisation charter: respect for the material integrity of the documents, choice of resolution, file format and naming.
Rare and/or precious documents and those most in demand are digitised as a priority.
Today, more than thirty-nine thousand documents have been digitised for long-term digital preservation and are now available to researchers.
