Beautiful European Heritage Days 2021
Beautiful European Heritage Days 2021 for L'Aventure!
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days 2021, on September 18 and 19, employees and volunteers of L’Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS were mobilized to receive the public who came in large numbers to its various sites: at the Citroën & DS Conservatory in Aulnay-sous -Bois, at the Peugeot Adventure Museum in Sochaux and at the Terre Blanche Archives Center in Hérimoncourt (Doubs).
At the Citroën conservatory & DS
Bargain hunters and visitors met at the Citroën Conservatory & DS in Aulnay-sous-Bois on Saturday September 18 to take advantage of the 3rd annual Autojumble and guided tours of the collections (about 400 people for the visit of the Conservatory and 750 for the Autojumble) .
A special car park was dedicated to collectors coming in old cars, thus allowing visitors to admire vintage cars of all brands. Of course, visitors were also able to enjoy the exhibition of vehicles auctioned as part of the Adventure Sale…
L’Aventure sale
In partnership with AGUTTES, L’Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS organized an auction with around thirty cars from its collections (31 vehicles sold out of 33), cars from private collectors and automobilia. More than 150 people attended the Sale which took place at the Citroën conservatory & DS on Sunday 19 September. The complete results of the Adventure Sale can be viewed on the Aguttes website -> https://www.aguttes.com/catalogue/115990
At the L’Aventure Peugeot museum
This year, the Bourse Classic took place over two days, under a bright sun on Saturday afternoon and in the rain on Sunday. This did not dampen the enthusiasm of the bargain hunters who came to look for a bargain in the Autojumble! Another very popular novelty this year was the shop books and documents from within the Museum workshop itself, thus allowing visitors to discover a place usually closed to the public.
Finally, as every year for the European Heritage Days, entry to the Musée de L’Aventure Peugeot was at a reduced rate for everyone, attracting nearly 800 visitors over the whole weekend.
Exceptional opening of the Terre Blanche archives center
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days 2021, the teams of the Terre Blanche Archives Center opened it’s doors for a guided tour in the heart of the archives of L’Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS and it’s hidden treasures. Access to the reserves of the Musée de L’Aventure Peugeot was undeniably the highlight of the show for the 350 or so registered visitors.
Automotive art exhibition
L’Aventure was also present at the Château de Groussay, an ideal setting in Montfort-L’Amaury (Yvelines), for the Art Automobile 2021 event. For the 70th anniversary of the Simca Aronde, L’Aventure Automobile in Poissy (CAAPY) exhibited a 1953 Aronde and a 1955 Aronde Coupé de Ville there. L’Aventure Citroën had brought out two cars from the Conservatory for the occasion: the Autochenille B2 Scarabée d’Or (the version rebuilt with the association “Des Voitures et des Hommes”) and the 1956 Citroën C10 “Goutte d’Eau” prototype.
Xavier Crespin, Director of the L’Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS association:
« The European Heritage Days have become a very important annual event for our association, which we organise with great care and passion. We were very happy to welcome the public back to our establishments and it is nice to get back in touch after these difficult months. I am also very happy with the volunteers who undoubtedly contributed to the success of this weekend. We have largely exceeded our objectives and succeeded in giving ourselves the means to continue to share models of French automotive heritage thanks to the Aguttes auction. Mission accomplished »
