Peugeot 404

Launched in 1960, the 404 is distinguished by its very taut lines, designed by the coachbuilder Pininfarina. From a mechanical point of view, it is the result of the improvement of its elders, the 203 and 403. The architecture, solid, robust and proven, is equipped with new gasoline engines. In 1963, after extensive studies, both technical and commercial, the diesel engine is added to these. Proof is made, if necessary, of the mastery of the manufacturer-motorist. The mastery of its manufacture lowers the cost of production, making it even more profitable.
