202
Launched in 1938, the Peugeot 202 succeeded and replaced its predecessor, the 201. Presented in February 1938, the 202 was touted in advertising catalogues as the popular car for all French people.
The three numbers at the bottom of the grille were painted in the colours of the national flag, a common patriotic reminder at the time.
Born shortly before the Second World War, its production was interrupted and only resumed in 1946, with some technical improvements, such as the adaptation of hydraulic brakes on the BH version. Only 104,126 examples of the 202 were produced, including all touring versions.
