The registration of collector vehicles
Reminder of the rules on the registration of collector vehicles
Following the directives of the Ministry of Transport, it is now impossible to register a change of gray card for a non-driving vehicle, and it is prohibited for manufacturers, their delegates (in particular L’Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS) as well as the FFVE, to issue a dating certificate to obtain a collection registration document.
A gray card is not a title deed but a circulation document.
A certificate is only issued if the vehicle is assembled, running and conforms to the original. If after registration, it is transformed, this may be subject to prosecution for forgery and use of forgery. A vehicle which is not roadworthy and therefore unable to meet the requirements of the technical inspection therefore does not need a circulation document and it is not originally in conformity since at the origin the vehicle was capable of being driven on public roads.
Other useful information: the Ministry requests that the certificate be drawn up immediately before the restoration and not several years beforehand. It is advisable to keep purchase invoices, even on plain paper.
